The Baltic Lady Bulldogs will be taking on MCM tonight here in Baltic at 7:00 pm, for the final region game. We would love to see you all there tonight supporting the girls and all of the hard work that they have put in this season to secure another victory and make it to the SoDak 16. The theme for tonight is "blackout" for the students and any parents or community members that want to participate in the fun. Please remember that activity tickets do not work for admission. Adult admission is $6 and student admission is $4. See you all tonight at 7:00 pm.
Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,
We have been informed that a stray German shepherd dog has been seen running around Baltic often north of the football field near the shot put area, and all attempts to capture the dog have been unsuccessful. The Humane Society has requested that they be allowed to set a live trap near the shot put area in hopes of capturing the dog.
We are informing you of this as we have been told that a child or even small adult could be "caught" in the live trap. It is our understanding the dog or person caught in the trap would not be harmed other than not being able to escape. Parents, please speak with your children about not going near the trap. If anyone has any information about this stray dog or there are issues with the trap including the dog being captured in it, please call the Humane Society at 605-254-4058.

The Baltic Lady Bulldogs will be hosting Lennox tonight for our last regular season home game. Tonight the theme will be Think Pink and the volleyball players will be recognizing someone from the community who has been impacted by breast cancer. The announcements for this recognition will take place in between the JV and Varsity games tonight so please be at the school by 6:30.

High school students attending the 2023 Music Trip to Nashville are selling holiday wreaths as a fundraiser. We are also sending home a letter to elementary students for families that may be interested in buying a wreath. Proceeds will be used to offset trip expenses. Hello Baltic Community,
As most of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each year our volleyball team does a fundraiser to raise money for this cause. This year we are joining the fight against breast cancer with one of our very own, Jennifer Even. Jen is a Baltic graduate, lives in the Baltic School District, taught for many years in our district, and she and her husband Kevin have raised their 3 daughters as Baltic Bulldogs. Hannah graduated in 2018, Emma graduated in 2022, and Sophia is currently a freshman and a member of our volleyball team. Jen's journey to fight this disease will incur many expenses. One fundraiser we would like to do to help offset some of those expenses is to sell t-shirts that say, "together we fight". Shirts can be purchased for $16 using the link below. Como la mayoría de ustedes saben, octubre es el mes de concientización sobre el cáncer de mama. Cada año, nuestro equipo de voleibol realiza una recaudación de fondos para recaudar fondos para esta causa. A reminder that school dismisses at 1:15pm today for teacher in-service. This is the only early dismissal for teacher in-service this school year, and all other in-services will be all-day in-services. There will be a 1:15pm dismissal on October 6th for Parent-Teacher Conferences from 2-8pm.

This is homecoming week, which kicks off with coronation tonight at 7:00pm in the high school gym.
Friday is the parade at 1:30pm on Main Street. Anyone who wants to enter a float in the parade may do so via the following link.

Please note, that due to safety concerns, it will no longer be permissible to throw candy or other items from a float, vehicle, etc. Anyone who wants to distribute candy or other items may do so by walking along the parade route and handing or underhand throwing the items.
Parade lineup will once again be in the vicinity of the Lutheran Church. The parade route will change however, and go west down Nidaros Ave, turn north on 1st Street, and then turn east and go through Main Street ending up at the football stadium for the pep rally.
We are in need of additional convertibles, golf carts, etc. to transport past kings and queens, Hall of Fame inductees, and other honorees in the parade. If you have a such a vehicle you are willing to have it used in the parade, call Carol at 605-529-5461 or email her at carol.wickham@k12.sd.us with your name and the type of vehicle. The vehicle would need to be delivered to the Lutheran Church parking lot by 1:00pm, and could be picked up there immediately following the parade. It would be perfectly fine for the owner of the vehicle, other than students, to drive it in the parade.
A reminder that the Fine Arts Boosters will host their annual homecoming supper in the commons before the football game. The Bulldog football team will take on Jim River at 7:00pm, and at half-time, there will be four new inductees in the Baltic HIgh School Hall of Fame.
In other athletic action this week, our volleyball team travels to West Central on Tuesday and hosts Flandreau on Thursday. Our cross country team travels to
Arlington today for their only meet of the week. Good luck to all our our teams!

Help paint the town Blue and Gold!
The Baltic Athletic Booster Club will again be painting paw prints on driveways, sidewalks or in front of businesses to show school and community spirit. Each set of paw prints is $30 (one blue paw print and one gold paw print). Each paw print is approximately 3ft by 3ft!! In addition, this year, we will be adding numbers. You can have the number of your favorite player or players on your driveway for $10.00.
Sign up via the link below before 2:00pm on Thursday, September 8th, 2022 to have your paw prints and or numbers painted in time for Friday's Homecoming festivities on September 16th. Sign up with your name, address and phone number. We will begin painting Saturday, September 10th and a Booster Club member will stop by to collect payment (cash or check) prior to painting the paw prints and or numbers. If you can, please send money with your student, labeled with "paw prints" and your last name, to the school offices.
*Please note - paw prints will be painted on the lower left side of driveways (1 blue and 1 gold) and numbers will be painted on the right side of driveways unless noted otherwise in the comments section. If you are purchasing numbers, all numbers will be painted in white. Businesses or those without driveways, please note in the comment section where to place paw prints as well.

Fall pictures are Thursday, September 1st and once again will be taken by Photography by Mark. We ask that all students take a picture that day for inclusion in the yearbook and class composite regardless of whether you intend to purchase any pictures.
Picture order forms have been sent home with students. If a student did not bring a form home, another can be picked up in either office. The forms are to be used by anyone who wants to pay using check or cash and should be brought to school on the day of pictures. Anyone wishing to order on-line and use a credit card for payment should use the following instructions on how to purchase pictures.

How To Order Picture Day Photos Online
1. Go to Photography by Mark
2. Click on "Order Here"
3. Enter "BASD" for the event name, click "search"
4. Click on your school district
5. Click on your student's school
6. Enter your email address and click "login". All orders are tracked with the email address you enter.
7. You should now see a page with our photo packages. Choose from any of our packages and/or order ala-carte items.
8. Once you are done shopping, click on the "shopping cart" icon. You will be prompted for your student's information as well as yours. That is, it!
Some Things You Should Know
All Picture Packages are on sale through Picture Day!
A valid email address is required to place an order.
You will receive a confirmation email once an order is placed.
All orders placed through Picture Day will be processed and delivered to the student's school 2-3 weeks following Picture Day.
If you are ordering for multiple students, you will need to complete an order for each student you are ordering photos of.
If you are ordering a Class Picture for an elementary student, the Class Picture will be delivered to the school after retake day.
All portrait orders will be delivered to your student's school.

BHS Iron Man Volleyball and Powder Puff Football
Mark your calendars!
Student Council is bringing back Powder Puff Football- The Senior Girls will take on the Junior Girls in a Flag Football Game to Kick off homecoming week! This will take place on Sunday September 11th at 3:30 out on the football field.
But wait there is more! Before the Powder Puff game, the Senior Boys will take on the Junior Boys in Iron Man Volleyball at 2 o'clock in the BHS Gym!
There will be a free will donation entry fee to help raise money for Student Council.
Girls will coach the boys in volleyball and boys will coach the girls in football.

The Baltic Athletic Booster Club is hosting a golf tournament at Northern Links Golf Course on Saturday, September 17th at 1pm. Please join us to help raise funds to support our Baltic Athletic programs. The tournament will have up to 15 teams in a 4-person scramble format.
Prizes will be given out to the winning team(s) along with several pin prizes for both men and women players. Registration fee is $200 per team which includes four 9-hole rounds and two carts.
Besides playing in the tournament, there are several ways to help make this a successful event. Hole sponsorships can be purchased for $25 (provide logo if desired). Other sponsorships are available such as give-aways for participants, beverage tickets for participants, cash to offset expenses, and other opportunities. We are also looking for volunteers to work and/or provide swag for the event.
